Stacy Anderson November ’15 Member of the Month

Congratulations to Stacy Anderson of our Watertown location for being selected as our Member of the Month!  Stacy is a success story no matter what.  But her story is extra special.

The benefits she has received from her increased strength, conditioning, and proper nutrition goes deeper than getting lean and fit.

“I joined Barefoot in April, 2014. After seeing so many of Abby’s Facebook posts, I knew I had to join. After talking with a current member, a friend and I joined. It was the best thing that could have happened to me.

Those first few weeks, I was so sore and was thinking, why did I do this to myself. But eventually it got better. I don’t think I’m ever not been sore from a workout. It’s always a good sore though; if I’m not sore, I question myself if I worked hard enough.

April 1, 2015 my life took an unexpected turn. I was diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis. I was devastated.

My father has MS and has been in the nursing home for 11 years. I knew what it could do to a person and of course, that’s all I could see. After seeing the MS Specialist, I had a new outlook. She told me “I had money in the bank with my diet and exercise regimen.”

Since I had learned how to eat properly and was already participating in a tough exercise routine, she didn’t have to “teach” me how to do it. My strength impressed her. She told me to not change a thing and keep getting stronger.

The stronger you are with MS the better.

MS likes to attack the muscles, especially the legs. So I’ll continue my strength and conditioning until I no longer can do it! She believes I’ll never have a relapse, which is great news!

Barefoot is like my extended family. We push each other to go harder, go heavier and to not give up. Without it, I wouldn’t be where I am today.”

P.S. Want to give Barefoot a try? Getting started is easy. Just say hello here and we’ll help you set up a free week of training to see what it’s all about.
