The origin of Barefoot Fitness
Barefoot Fitness was started by Craig Weller in 2008 in Spearfish, SD. Craig is a former USN SWCC (Special Warfare Combatant Crewman), and from the beginning Barefoot was based on the minimalist training principles developed during his time in SOF (Special Operations Forces).
Craig has since moved on to other things, including Building the Elite, where he and his team specialize in helping SOF candidates prepare for the demanding SOF selection process. Barefoot Fitness continues to operate using those same minimal but effective training principles developed by Craig.
We moved into our current training facility in early 2017, and before that we utilized garages in several different locations, as well as city parks when the weather cooperated.
At Barefoot we give people the tools they need to gain strength, muscle, mobility, and restore pain-free joint function. We help them lose fat, build muscle, feel better, and look better.
