Hi! We are the Andersons, Clint and Ann. We joined Barefoot in the Fall of 2019. Ann is a 5th grade science teacher in Belle Fourche and I own and operate Diversified Drafting. We have a 12-year-old daughter and a 5-year-old son. All of these things keep us on the go every day. One thing that seemed to get pushed aside was our fitness, so we decided to change that.
I had heard Scott and Dawn Hourigan talk about their workouts at Barefoot and it sounded different than the typical “hitting the gym” story. I really liked how each session was something new, and that it wasn’t just throwing weights around. One thing that stuck with me was that Scott said their Barefoot membership was an investment in themselves, it wasn’t an expense. What could be better than investing on yourself?
What have we noticed in the year and a half of Barefoot? Barefoot has an incredible community and culture. From day one anyone in the gym was willing to lend support and encouragement. As promised, the workouts are different each day (within the series) so you’re never bored and your entire body is worked.
I was surprised at how quickly going to workout became a habit and something we schedule other things around. Even though most, if not all, of the workouts are incredibly challenging, we truly look forward to going. It’s fun to see how far you’ve come and to challenge yourself to get better. We’re incredibly pleased with the progress we’ve made in our fitness.
Janaye, Elliot, and the rest of the instructors really do want to see you succeed and it shows. We were a bit nervous that first day when we walked through the doors, but it was so worth it! I just wish we would have walked through those doors years ago.
