I have been going to barefoot for 17 years and the instructors kick my butt and make me look good in skinny jeans. They don’t make fun of my painted toenails and always have a positive thing to say about how my burpees are just terrible. My only dream is that they had a Donut bar and a Nacho cheese fountain on Tuesday! P.S. the water fountain is haunted!

I highly recommend trying out Barefoot Fitness. Great facility, great workouts, and most importantly, great coaches. The coaches really stress the importance of quality over quantity. They really want to ensure you are doing each movement correctly. I also love that we move our bodies for at least 45 minutes each class.
Had a great time trying out this gym tonight with my daughter. The workouts are challenging, but not unmanageable. Staff are completely engaged to ensure safety, form, and teaching the moves for those of us who aren’t used to kettle bells. Very happy with my workout. Didn’t feel like an hour the time went by so fast. I’m sure I’m going to be feeling it tomorrow, lol.

I love barefoot! It truly is a family there and I always feel supported during my workouts and know that I’m missed if I’m not there. Janaye really focuses on form and is always able to offer modifications when needed. Injury prevention is important to me and I know that I get that from Barefoot. Barefoot is a comfortable environment for everyone, no matter your ability level!
I am a person who has done the “anytime” gyms with my own workout plans and my drive to complete them effectively was not a problem until a couple of years ago. At that time with the suggestion of close friends, my wife and I decided to try out Barefoot Fitness. The group workouts that are preplanned with a set repetition within a series has been a game changer for me. Not only do the workouts change at a good rate, there is many times throughout the year that a side challenge or game exists among the members to keep things interesting. Anyone looking to get out of a rut or just start out for the first time, I suggest Barefoot Fitness of the Black Hills!
It can be sort of grueling exercises, but it’s awesome how the exercises are continually switched up. And always feel good after class!
I joined Barefoot about a year ago with no strength training experience and wish I’d done it sooner. There are multiple class times to choose from so all I have to do is show up and everything is planned for me. At Barefoot you’ll see members of all ages and skill levels doing the workouts and challenging themselves with the help of fantastic instructors. I never find myself watching the clock to see when the class will be over and always leave feeling good!

This is my 8th year at Barefoot. I love that the series are written by the instructors, we’re shown how to do the exercises and then watched to make sure we are doing them correctly. There are a variety of workouts targeting every part of our bodies. I am much stronger because of Barefoot.

I have been at barefoot for more than 10 years now. I started when I was in college and never could change gyms! I moved to Rapid City for five years and still drove to Spearfish just to workout. After I had kids and was still living in Rapid City I couldn’t attend the classes anymore, so I started to do Barefoot workouts the instructors sent to me at home in my basement. I moved back to Spearfish a few years ago and was happy to have a class and family atmosphere again. The atmosphere makes working out and “the want to go to class” a lot easier than trying to go it alone. Thanks barefoot for all you have done for me and shown me!

Knowledgeable instructors and great structure! If you’re needing an extra push or a little bit of structure to your workouts, this is the place! The series change frequently enough to keep your muscles guessing and keep you engaged. I was nervous to start here but have never felt out of place.
